Health dept collect 16 food samples
The health authorities collected 16 samples of food items from different shops in various food joints at the highway. The team of the health department including district health officer Dr Ashwani Sondhi and food safety officers Dr Harjotpal and Dr Sukhrao Singh collected the samples.

Civil surgeon Dr RL Bassan informed, "A total of 16 food samples have been collected including paneer, desi ghee, cream, milk, turmeric, red chilly powder, garam masala, maida, besan, mint sauce, jaggery, tamarind, flavoured essences, food colour, black salt and soda from Phillaur and Goraya GT Road".
He added that they have issued instructions to the food joints and shopkeepers to take care of sanitation and maintain hygienic standards in their respective workshops.
