Health minister pays surprise visit to hospital

Punjab health minister Surjit Kumar Jyani on Thursday night made a surprise visit to the government hospital here and inspected the facilities being provided to the patients.

During the visit at around 10 pm on Thursday night, Jyani also talked to the patients and asked the doctors to ensure all facilities and treatment to patients, especially to the poor.

Jayani also asked the doctors to put complaint boxes at the hospital to know about the problems being faced by the patients.

The minister said the state government was committed to ensure cleanliness and security at all government hospitals to provide best health care to the patients. He also directed the doctors to ensure free treatment and diet to pregnant women as per the policy of the state government.

Jyani also asked the doctors and other staff to do their duty honestly and to make the state health department corruption-free.
