They were brought to the Attari border and handed over to Pakistan Rangers.

Out of the 15 fishermen, 14 were lodged in a jail in Kerala, while one was serving sentence in a Gujarat jail. Two civilians were brought from the Jammu jail.

Kishore Ahmad, who had crossed the border after a fight at home, said, "I moved towards the border in a fit of anger. I never knew when I crossed over. But today it feels great that I am going home."

With a naughty smile on his face, he extended a timely advice: "I would tell youngsters in Pakistan not to run towards the border after a fight at home."

Imran, a fisherman, said they had inadvertently entered the Indian waters and were nabbed by Indian coastal guards. "We want both the nations to adopt a lenient approach towards fishermen," he said.

All the fishermen have served a jail term of two-and-a-half years.
