Karnal settles 2,650 casesat national lok adalat.

A total of 2,650 cases were settled in the district during the national lok adalat here on Saturday.Renu Rana, secretary, district legal services authority (DLSA), here said that cases settled at the Karnal district court and Assandh sub-division included motor-accident claims, matrimonial disputes, labour disputes, cheque bouncing, traffic challans and land mutation.

Renu Rana, secretary, district legal services authority (DLSA), here said that cases settled at the Karnal district court and Assandh sub-division included motor-accident claims, matrimonial disputes, labour disputes, cheque bouncing, traffic challans and land mutation.

Of the 4,490 cases put at the Karnal district court 2,192 were settled.

At Assandh sub-division 458 cases settled at the national lok adalat.

Rana said that since January, a total of 16 lok adalats were organised in the district and 3,000 cases settled.
The main object of the lok adalat was to ensure speedy justice to the litigants and to make sure that there were no further appeals.

She described resolution of disputes through the lok adalat as cost-effective and providing easy access to justice.
