Ludhiana: CII's new chairman wants sustainability of industry

Neeraj Satija who took over as chairman of Confederation of Indian Industries, Ludhiana, has said his focus would be on key issues related to development and sustainability of Ludhiana and Ludhiana-based industry.

Neeraj Satija who took over as chairman of Confederation of Indian Industries, Ludhiana, has said his focus would be on key issues related to development and sustainability of Ludhiana and Ludhiana-based industry.

“We will work to promote manufacturing competitiveness through cluster formation, technical trainings, interaction with experts from other regions on key technical issues; will work to promote implementation of energy efficient practices and techniques in Ludhiana industry with the support and guidance of CII-Center for Excellencies,” he added.

He said last year CII successfully completed an Advance CII Cluster at Ludhiana, in which cluster members companies registered a total savings of around Rs 10 crore, adding that, “We will launch another CII Cluster at Ludhiana soon.”

Satija added, “For the well being and development of the society, new and important initiatives with the support of administration will be taken up. CII Ludhiana is already working on the Free Children's Education especially for the factory workers and for the underprivileged children, under the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan schemes.”
