Mall guard murder: Main accused on 6-day police remand, two more rounded up

A day after a 28-year-old security guard was killed at a local mall on Sonepat road here, a local court has sent the main accused Dheeraj Kumar, who was arrested on Thursday, on six-day police remand.

Deceased Sunil Kumar, a resident of Chamaria village of Rohtak district, had been attacked with sticks on in the wee hours of Thursday by a group of half a dozen persons, leading to his death. Sunil was deployed at the parking lot of the mall at the time of incident.

Police sources said that based on the information revealed by the main accused to the police, two more suspects believed to be involved in the crime were rounded up by the police. The accused revealed that they had a fight with the victim a few hours earlier near the mall and later had come with sticks to seek revenge.

Police said that the fatal injury on the victim's head had led to his death.

"We have been conducting raids at suspected spots to arrest the other accused involved in the crime, who were booked under murder charges. We are trying to recover the weapons used in the crime", said a police spokesperson.
