Man killed as train hits car.

One person was killed after his car was hit by a train at an unmanned railway crossing in Sultanpur Lodhi area on Sunday evening.

One person was killed after his car was hit by a train at an unmanned railway crossing in Sultanpur Lodhi area on Sunday evening.

The incident occurred around 5 pm near Dadwindi village in Sultanpur Lodhi and the deceased was identified as Baaj Singh (60), a businessman of Sultanpur Lodhi. Eyewitnesses stated that Baaj Singh was crossing the unnamed railway crossing in his Esteem car (PB 41-A- 0014), when a diesel multiple unit (DMU) train running between Jalandhar-Ferozepur hit his car. The train dragged the car to almost one kilometer on the track. The body was sent for the post-mortem by the GRP.
