National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (Nabard) has sanctioned a loan of about `50 crore to the Haryana government under 20th tranche of the Rural Infrastructure Development Fund for construction of 603 anganwadi centres in 19 districts.

An official spokesman said the 19 districts where anganwadi centres would be constructed included Ambala, Bhiwani, Faridabad, Fatehabad, Gurgaon, Hisar, Jhajjar, Jind, Kaithal, Karnal, Kurukshetra, Mewat, Palwal, Panchkula, Panipat, Rewari, Rohtak, Sonepat and Yamunanagar.
The spokesman said the government would ensure improved nutrition, health status and education to around 27,000 children and 12,000 pregnant, lactating women and adolescent girls through these centres located in 453 villages.
