No trace of kidnapped boy, CPS Sidhu assures help to family

With the police yet to trace kidnapped 10-year-old boy Gurkirat Singh, chief parliamentary secretary Navjot Kaur Sidhu visited his family at their house in Verka on Sunday and asked the police to step up its efforts to find him.

Sidhu, who represents the constituency, called the assistant commissioner of police and the station house officer concerned to Gurkirat's house and also took up the matter with Amritsar police commissioner Ram Singh.

Gurkirat went missing on November 7 from near his house and after his family approached the police, they registered a missing person report. With no clues, the police registered a kidnapping case against unidentified persons on November 9.

Although, the family has not received any ransom call, there are no leads about Gurkirat. Sidhu has assured all help to Angrej Singh, the boy's father.

"This is a serious matter and the police need to speed up their investigation," Sidhu said. "I have also asked the BJP team in the constituency to find clues and help the police."
"We are on the job and the probe is on," said assistant commissioner of police (east) Baljit Singh.
