Obscene video: Eight booked for threatening 60-yr-old man in Moga

In yet another incident, Badhni Kalan police have booked eight persons under charges of extortion on Saturday.

The accused allegedly threatened a 60-year-old man to make his obscene video viral if the latter failed to give Rs 1 lakh as ransom.

The accused persons including Rajbir Singh, Bhinda and Gopi have been arrested while other five identified as Mandeep Kaur, Pamma, Lakha, Kamal and Preet Singh are absconding.

The victim, a resident of Butter Kalan village in his first information report (FIR) stated that three people came to him and told that Mandeep Kaur, an acquaintance, was calling him at her home for an urgent work.

“When I went there, the accused persons forcefully made my obscene video with Mandeep and threatened to make it viral if I failed to pay Rs 1 lakh,” he added.

The victim said he gave them Rs 9500 as he was scared, but after he failed to arrange the remaining money he decided to lodge complaint.

Gurpiar Singh, station house officer (SHO) Badhni Kalan police station said that three accused persons have been arrested.

A case has been registered under Sections 341 (punishment for wrongful restraint) and 384 (punishment of extortion) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

Meanwhile, this is second such case under jurisdiction of Badhni Kalan in a week, as last week, five persons had threatened a 70-year-old man, to make his obscene video viral, if the victim failed to give ransom of Rs 2 lakhs.

In the said case, police have arrested only two accused persons so far.
