Officers told to be vigilant against outbreak of malaria in Sangrur

Addressing a meeting of executive officers of municipal councils, block development and panchayat officers (BDPOs), education officers and officials of the Mandi Board of the district, he said with rising temperature, there was need for taking all precautions that no uncovered or cut fruits were sold, no stagnant water was allowed to accumulate, which serves as a mosquito breeding ground, and proper hygiene was maintained.

The people were asked to cooperate in keeping their surroundings clean and to frequently change water in coolers.

The education department was asked to take up the issue of health and sanitation at morning assemblies and create awareness among students about sanitation and personal hygiene. The BDPOs were asked to coordinate with village panchayats and undertake cleanliness drives.
