Terming the encounter of Punjab’s most wanted gangster Harjinder Singh alias Vicky Gounder and two of his aides as fake, supporters of Jaipal Singh, who leads the gang, vowed to avenge the killing.

A Facebook page named ‘Jaipal Bhullar Aale’ named after Jaipal Singh told police to “be prepared for the revenge”. Jaipal is prime accused in the murder of gangster-politician Jaswinder Singh Rocky.

“We will show the cops who get medals by these killing, what it means to kill someone’s son. We have already said that we will kill two (cops) for every person (gang member) killed by police, and will avenge Gounder and other two’s killing by killing six,” said the post in Punjabi.

Another Facebook account ‘Shera Khuban Group’ named after slain gangster Gurshahid Singh alias Shera Khuban posted that it will “give medals” to the cops by avenging the killings. Shera was killed in an encounter with the police in Bathinda in September 2012. The Facebook pages are flooded with photos of the killed gangsters and reactions.

Meanwhile, supporters of slain gangster Sukhbir Singh Kahlwan, alias Sukha Kahlon, celebrated Gounder’s killing. Gounder and Prema Lahoriya were among the accused for killing Kahlon in police custody near Phagwara in 2015.
