PAU food department marks ‘nutrition week’
The faculty and students of the department of food and nutrition, Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) celebrated ‘National Nutrition Week’ by undertaking various activities from September 1 to 7. The programme was based on the theme “Poshak Aahar - Desh Ka Aahar”.
To create nutritional awareness, lectures and demonstrations were organised in urban and rural schools like GGN Public School, Gobind Nagar; Government Senior Secondary School, Gobind Nagar; and Government Senior Secondary School, PAU and Bhundri village.
Balwinder Sadana, head, department of food and nutrition appreciated the efforts of the participants and encouraged them to take a balanced diet for maintaining good health, improving concentration on studies and performing well in physical activities. An inter-college cooking competition of nutritious and delicious snacks was also organised.
