Rs 100 incentive to BPL families for Aadhaar card enrolment

The district administration will give cash award of Rs 100 to each member of a BPL family for Aadhaar card enrolment in the district. The decision was taken by the administration keeping in view the lack of interest among BPL families towards enrolling themselves for Aadhaar cards.

At a meeting, deputy commissioner Varun Roozam said that Rs 1.59lakh would be distributed among BPL families for this purpose.

The DC said that all block development, panchayat officers and executive officers of municipal councils have been asked to give a list of BPL families to the district food and supply controller within two days so that they can get benefit of the scheme.

Assistant commissioner (G) Sanjiv Sharma, district development and panchayat officer Avtar Singh Bhullar, district food and supply controller Rakesh Singla and other officials were present at the meeting.
