The Shiromani Akali Dal-Bharatiya Janata Party (SAD-BJP) government and Congress have failed to fulfil the promises made the last assembly elections after voted to power, slammed Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) state convener Sucha Singh Chhotepur while addressing the party volunteers at Rotary Bhawan on Tuesday.
He said that these parties had promised moon by making the state California but have ruined the state with corruption, patronising mafias, drug trade etc.
He claimed that now people were waiting to give a chance to AAP keeping in view the honesty and integrity of Arvind Kejriwal.
He blamed the Badal government for creating a mess in the state by allegedly implementing wrong policies and said that every section of society was fed up of this government which rendered the youth jobless and forced the farmers to commit suicides.
Referring to the issues raised by volunteers, he said that volunteers were the backbone of the party and they will be given due recognition and respect at all levels.
The state president cautioned party cadres that the fight of AAP in coming elections was with the most dramatic parties, which can go to any extent to raise the emotions of people on petty issues to keep AAP away from power.
He appealed the AAP volunteers to work united to ensure a big victory like Delhi in the coming elections in Punjab, so that the corrupt political and governing system could be changed.
He said that these interactive meetings with volunteers were proving very useful to redress the issues at initial levels.
Addressing the meeting, zone coordinator Col CM Lakhanpal assured the volunteers to give them right platform to raise issues and exhorted them to concentrate on further strengthening of the party among the masses.
