Sexual abuse case: Sardar Singh gets clean chit from Punjab police

Sardar Singh, the skipper Indian hockey team, has been given a clean chit by the police in connection with the allegations of sexual exploitation levelled against him by a UK-based woman in February.

Confirming the development, commissioner of police Jatinder Singh Aulakh, said the special investigation team (SIT) in its report said that no evidence to corroborate the allegations against Sardar Singh could be found. The report said the woman failed to produce evidence to establish her stay with Sardar at Bhaini Sahib.

The woman had also claimed that she stayed with Sardar at Panchkula and the police have advised her to file a complaint with the Haryana police.

The woman had alleged that she was engaged to Sardar Singh, who refused to marry after sexually exploiting her.
