The scheduled visit of Congress president Sonia Gandhi to Sultanpur Lodhi on March 31 has been postponed due to the bad weather forecast on that day.

The scheduled visit of Congress president Sonia Gandhi to Sultanpur Lodhi on March 31 has been postponed due to the bad weather forecast on that day. The visit is now likely on April 3 or 4, said local MLA Navtej Singh Cheema.

Sonia, who was to arrive in an helicopter, was scheduled visit Kalu and Georgepur villages to meet farmers whose standing wheat crop was damaged by the recent spell of unseasonal rain and winds.

The local unit had made elaborate security arrangements, including the building of a temporary helipad for the visit.
