Store accused of selling food items beyond expiry date

A consumer accused a departmental store of selling expired food items on Sunday. Chandrakar Shastri claimed that Horlics Oats that he purchased from Easy Day, a departmental store of Bharti Retail Ltd, was found to have crossed the expiry date of January 14. Shastri called up the police to report the matter.

Showing the bill and the packets bearing the expiry date, he said, "When I took up the matter up with store employees, they misbehaved with me." He claimed that a few months back also he had purchased a milk bottle, which had crossed the expiry date. Admitting the mistake, store manager Manish Anand said, "We are ready to replace the goods." He also apologised for the behaviour of store employees.
