Teacher challaned for using blue beacon atop SUV

The traffic police, on Monday, slapped a challan on a government school teacher who was unauthorisedly using a blue beacon atop her SUV. The police removed the beacon issuing a warning to the owner and the driver.

The teacher happened to be the spouse of a senior government official and kin of a prominent SAD leader of the state.

Traffic in-charge inspector Gurjitpal Singh was on a routine checking when he spotted the vehicle outside a government school in the Kamalpur area. When questioned, the driver informed that the vehicle belonged to a teacher.

The owner failed to produce any permission for the beacon. She claimed having brought the vehicle for the first day but people living in the vicinity complained that it was a regular phenomenon. The police removed the beacon and issued a challan.
