Sources said that Mangal Singh, a resident of Villa Kothi village, had complained that Balwant Singh, a resident of Toti village under Sultanpur Lodhi police station, had taken away her grand-daughter on the pretext of marrying her on November 8.

"I have tried my best to get my granddaughter back, but have not been successful," the complainant said.

The complaint added that "It had come to notice that Balwinder Singh and his father Karnail Singh had managed to solemnise her marriage in a gurduwara, a few days ago."

The police have booked both Balwant Singh and Karnail Singh under Sections 363 (punishment for kidnapping), 366-A (procreation of minor girl) and 120-B (punishment for criminal conspiracy) of the IPC.
