Whatsapp group admin beaten up by members of group
Seven persons have been booked for allegedly beating up a Whatsapp admin who deterred them from posting indecent pictures and messages in the group.
The Basti Jodhewal police have registered a case under Section 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 506 (criminal intimidation) and 149 (every member of unlawful assembly guilty of offence commit¬ted in prosecution of common object) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) in this context against Narinder Kumar and his six unidentified accomplices.
The case was registered following the statement of Raj Kumar of New Shastri Nagar of Jodhewal. He said that he runs a Whatsapp group, in which the accused Narinder used to post indecent pictures and messages. Raj Kumar said he had deterred Narinder from doing so.
On Friday the accused with the help of his accomplices stopped him and assaulted him.
It is pertinent to mention that on January 31, an argument on Whatsapp group had claimed the life of 19-year-old boy, who was trying to intervene in the clash of two friends at Grain Market at Kohara road in Sahnewal.
