Two men allegedly gangraped the wife of their friend on the pretext of helping them in getting out of a police case that is under investigation.

The accused took the woman to Bhamiya village and outraged her modesty and threatened her to keep quiet.
The 25-year-old woman lodged a complaint against Gora and Nishan of Bhamiya road at the Jamalpur police station on Thursday.

The complainant, a resident of Sector 32, Tajpur Road, stated that someone had filed a complaint against her husband at the Jamalpur police station which led to tension in the family. The complaint is under investigation.

She further added that Gora and Nishan, who are friends of her husband, met them and told them that one of their known cops was deputed at Jamalpur police station and they could help her husband in hushing the matter.

The woman alleged that on Wednesday, the duo met her outside the police station and took her to their house at Bhamiya village on the pretext of meeting the cop to hush up the matter.

The woman alleged that the accused gangraped her and also threatened her not to reveal the incident to anyone.

After conducting medical examination at civil hospital, the police registered a case under sections 376 (rape) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of IPC against the accused.

Sub-inspector Swarn Singh said the accused were at large and the police have launched a manhunt to arrest them.
