Rajinikanth-starrer Kochadaiiyaan’s woes seem far from over. Right from the day the first shot was canned, the film has been running in and out of rough weather.
The latest stumbling block is Censor trouble. While the original version in Tamil was censored on March 19 with a 'U' tag and without cuts, the
came under the Censor Board scanner when it was found that some work on the movie was still in progress.
Censor rules are clear that a film should not be touched once it has been certified for public screening.
However, the Board found that final touches were being given to the 3D and Hindi versions of

But this is only one in the long list of hiccups that the movie has faced. During the initial months of production, Rajinikanth fell ill. Nobody knew what was wrong with him, and in any case, such secrecy is the norm in India.

Besides these, Kochadaiiyaan’s opening date has been shifting. It was to have hit the theatres on April 11, just on the eve of Tamil New Year. But now, the release has been put off to May 1, which is bang in the middle of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
No big budget film would like to risk opening at a time when the nation’s attention is riveted on the polls and their outcome. So, it is quite likely that Kochadaiiyaan would not even open on May 1.
