Actor Prajakta Mali is keen on exploring different mediums and industries

Actor Prajakta Mali, who shot to fame with the TV show Julun Yeti Reshimgathi, is all set to appear in two films in 2018. Speaking about the projects, the Hampi (2017) actor says, “This year, I will be seen in an untitled film opposite actor Suvrat Joshi, and another one that has Mukta Barve as the lead. In the latter, I play a small but important role.”

A resident of Pune, Prajakta says she owes her career to the city and is glad that she grew up here. The actor, who holds a Masters in Performing Arts degree from Lalit Kala Kendra, says she likes the fact that Pune has managed to maintain its identity, charm, and culture, which can be seen in the city’s creative arts and media. “Five years of creative education at Lalit Kala Kendra helped me pick my career. The city helped me pick a career, which has worked wonders for me.”

The Sangharsh (2014) actor is keen to explore and is looking beyond regional cinema. “I am open to all mediums, web, ads, and, of course, films. I’m also looking for opportunities in the South and Bollywood. I am not going to stick to a particular medium.”

While choosing a project, Prajakta says she first enquires about the director. “My first question is, ‘who is the director?’ It is important to have a dedicated visionary helming a project. The rest falls in place after that.”
