Mani Ratnam’s Chekka Chivantha Vaanam stars Vijay Sethupathi, Jyothika, Simbu, Arun Vijay, Arvind Swami, Aishwarya Rajesh, Aditi Rao Hydari and Dayana Erappa.
Mani Ratnam’s multi-starrer Chekka Chivantha Vaanam with a promising star cast finally has a release date. The film which has Vijay Sethupathi, Jyothika, Simbu, Arun Vijay, Arvind Swami, Aishwarya Rajesh playing pivotal roles will hit the screens on September 28, announced film’s co-producers Lyca Productions.
On their official Twitter handle, they wrote, “#ChekkaChivanthaVaanam releases #September28th Worldwide.” They also tagged all the other actors who are a part of this film including Dayana Erappa, Prakash Raj, and finally, Adita Rao Hydari.
While Arvind Swami has previously worked with Mani Ratnam in films such as Roja, Bombay and Kadal, and Aditi has worked with him on Kaatru Veliyidai, the other cast members are working with the ace director for the first time in what is reportedly an ace thriller.
The team of Chekka Chivantha Vaanam wrapped up the shoot of their film in the first week of June and Simbu released an audio statement in which he spoke about his role. He said, “We have finally completed Chekka Chivantha Vaanam. Thanks to Mani sir who believed in me and gave an opportunity to act in his film. I never thought of acting in a Mani Ratnam film in my life. Of course, I still regret that I did not act in his Anjali but will make him proud with Chekka Chivantha Vaanam.”
The film has music composed by Mani’s favourite AR Rahman and the cinematography is by Santosh Sivan. The film’s editing will be taken care of by Sreekar Prasad.
