My first job in Pune helped me: Chirag Patil
Actor Chirag Patil’s first summer job at a Pune factory helped him prepare for his role in Love Betting
Chirag Patil will be seen in three Marathi films this year — Love Betting, Dil Dosti Deewangi, and an untitled Marathi film. The actor, who tied the knot with childhood sweetheart Sana Ankola (cricketer-actor Salil Ankola’s daughter) in December 2016, credits his wife for the packed schedule. “I signed three films within the first two weeks of getting married. Sana is definitely my lucky charm,” says Chirag.
“This year has been crazy as I have shot for two films in a day. I am lucky and fortunate to have had a great team, who supported me through hectic shooting schedules,” says the son of cricketer and selector, Sandeep Patil.
Love Betting will feature Chirag as an employee working for a multinational corporation. The film is about office politics and the current corporate culture. “Not many are aware, but my first job at the age of 18 was at my uncle’s factory in Pune. I worked in the store room and kept a record of stock analysis. That experience came in handy for this film,” says Chirag.
Will we see him play a cricketer or a sportsperson any time soon? “Well, I have a couple of projects coming up and one of those scripts had something to do with sports. So, if not in real life, you will soon see me play a sportsperson in reel,” he says.
