Telugu actor Ravi Teja lost his brother Bharat in an accident in Hyderabad recently.

Actor Bharat, popularly known as Telugu star Ravi Teja’s brother, passed away in a tragic car accident last week in Hyderabad. While the exact reason for the accident still remains a mystery, he was given a teary send off, amid close friends and family members. For strange reasons, Ravi Teja didn’t attend his funeral nor did he even come to pay respects to his mortal remains and his absence stirred up a controversy.

According to reliable sources, Ravi and Bharat were not in the pink of relationship for a long time. Bharat was a regular offender and had been booked by the police a few times over the years. His brother’s public image worried Ravi and this is exactly why he maintained a safe distance from him and never wanted to associate himself with anything that has to do with Bharat. Refuting all the rumours, Ravi Teja told a leading Telugu daily that neither his 85-year-old mother nor he could fathom the news and his mother collapsed upon hearing about his brother’s death. He also said that his parents and he didn’t have the courage to see his brother’s face as they were told that it was severely injured in the accident.

Ravi said he deeply misses his brother and has been spending last few days with his parents as they are yet to come to terms with the loss. Bharat was known for playing small character roles in Telugu films such as Dhee and Ready, and he was a regular collaborator with filmmaker Sreenu Vaitla.
