Ravi Teja walks out of Bogan Telugu remake, director Lakshman upset.

Actor Ravi Teja, who is basking in the runaway success of Raja The Great, had not long ago committed to the Telugu remake of Tamil film Bogan, which had featured Jayam Ravi and Arvind Swami in the titular roles. He was supposed to commence work on the project later this year. In a sudden turn of events, he has chosen to opt out of the project, leaving director Lakshman miffed and upset. Apparently, Lakshman, who helmed the original, spent last eight months of the pre-production of the remake and he feels Ravi Teja leaving the project is very upsetting.

Talking to a leading online entertainment portal Silverscreen, Lakshman said: “I had to rework the script for the Telugu audience. Also, Ravi Teja had done a certain type of films, to suit his style I tweaked my script. Now, when he says he cannot do the film, it is very upsetting. I need time to think about what to do next – to go with another actor or start working on a Tamil film.” Apparently, following the success of Raja The Great, Ravi is not too keen on doing a remake at this point in his career.

Bogan remake was also supposed to star SJ Suryah and Catherine Tresa, and the latter was even thrilled about the project. Although the project has been shelved for the time being, Lakshman is hopeful he can make it with another actor. It’s definitely not going to be easy to find a replacement as he had tweaked the script keeping in mind Ravi Teja’s image and his mass appeal.
