A couple from Texas that claims to have orgasms that last for as long as 18 hours appeared on a morning TV show in the United States recently, prompting the hosts to ask bewildered questions and triggering several rounds of hearty laughs.
Melanie and Scott McClure told the hosts -- Holly and Phillip -- on Wednesday that they can orgasm just by hugging or even when they are in different rooms, with their clothes on.
“One of the key things that people don’t realise is that orgasm is different from the traditional release of climax,” Scott explained and said that the couple has been practicing tantra -- an ancient yoga-based practice that they say utilises sexual energy and helps reach higher states of consciousness.
While the hosts were still trying to wrap their heads around the concept, the couple went on to hint that they might be reaching the ecstasy during the interview itself -- visibly making the hosts uncomfortable.
Melanie said the tantra made them pull the sexual energy up their body to re-energise them. “The longer we make love, the more energised we get,” she described.
A perplexed Holly then stutteringly asked Scott if it felt ‘normal’ for him to have a prolonged orgasm. Scott told her it felt ‘more powerful’ and much more ‘intense’.
Winding up the conversation, Holly admitted that though it was one of her favourite interviews, she wasn’t sure if she had asked all she ‘needed to know’, prompting Phillip to utter “still to come (?)”.
Perhaps realising the unintended pun, the hosts burst into uncontrolled laughter before slipping into an ad break.
