Liverpool largely dominated the encounter and took a 2-0 lead after Dejan Lovren was left unmarked to steer home the opener and Henderson bent the ball into the top corner from 30 metres to put the visitors in command at halftime.

The win moved Liverpool level with Chelsea on 10 points after five games.

BRUYNE MAGNIFICENT

Pep Guardiola’s dream start to his Manchester City reign continued with an eighth win in eight matches in all competitions, a scintillating victory over Bournemouth being ignited by Kevin de Bruyne’s ingenuity at the Etihad.

The in-form Belgian scored a cheeky 15th minute freekick to set the Premier League leaders on the way to a dazzling victory.

DOUBLE FOR SLIMANI

Leicester City’s record buy Islam Slimani injected new life into the champions’ title defence on Saturday, marking his Premier League debut with his first two goals for the club in a comprehensive win.

The prolific Algerian striker struck with the last action of the first half and early in the second, to demonstrate his heading ability.
