Bayern Munich coach Louis Van Gaal wants football's powers to reconsider using technology because the stakes are so high in the modern game.

Van Gaal said “details are always deciding the game,” with referees not getting enough help.

Van Gaal referred to Barcelona's criticism of several officiating decisions during its semifinal exit to Inter Milan and Manchester United fullback Rafael's sending off in its quarterfinal game against Bayern.

With the “referee unable to see everything,” Van Gaal said “maybe Mr. Platini and Mr. Blatter, we need to change this.” FIFA president Sepp Blatter has said the governing body will not continue exploring the use of goal-line technology. Bayern plays Inter in Saturday's Champions League final.
