Simla Youngs, Amity Utd win in Durand qualifiers
Simla Youngs FC beat BEG Rurkee 3-1 in the first qualifying match for the 122nd edition of the ONGC Durand Cup at the Ambedkar Stadium on Wednesday.

Simla Youngs FC beat BEG Rurkee 3-1 in the first qualifying match for the 122nd edition of the ONGC Durand Cup at the Ambedkar Stadium on Wednesday.
Manoj Kumar opened the scoring for Simla Youngs in the second added minute after the first half. Vikas Ghosh equalised in the 74th minute for the Rurkee team. But Simla Youngs came back strongly and goals by Ebukwe Jude (82nd minute) and Ashok Kumar (90th minute) gave them the victory.
In the other qualifier, Amity United FC beat Indian Navy 4-3 on penalties after the score remained tied at the end of extra time.
Viplav, V Khaira, Vikram and J S Sen scored from the spot for Amity United while C T Sajith, Ramesh Kumar and Suresh Babu converted for the opposition.
