I'm getting divorced, thanks for letting me know: Abhishek Bachchan
Abhishek Bachchan sarcastically tweeted about the rumours that he and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan are getting divorced. Rumours that the couple was heading for a split had been doing the rounds of late.
They broke a million hearts when they got hitched in 2007, and Abhishek and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s marriage is often described as among the strongest ones in Bollywood.
However, for the past few days, rumours have been rife on social media that the couple might be heading for divorce. Now, Abhishek has refuted them. “Ok…. So I believe I’m getting divorced. Thanks for letting me know! Will you let me know when I’m getting re-married too? Thanks. #muppets (sic),” the actor tweeted on Friday (May 15).
The divorce rumours come on the heels of speculation about the strained relationship between
and her mother-in-law Jaya Bachchan. Certain reports claimed their differences came to the forefront at a party earlier this year.
Last year, reports suggested that due to Jaya’s “interfering” nature,
wanted to move out of the Bachchan residence, with Abhishek and their two-year-old daughter, Aaradhya. On being asked by a fan about this on Twitter, he had said, “It’s rubbish”.
