iQOO 12 to launch in India, company confirms; ‘Coming soon’

Vivo sub-brand iQOO on Wednesday confirmed that its iQOO 12 smartphone will be launched in India.

Nipun Maurya, CEO, iQOO India, took to X (previously Twitter) to make the announcement.

Meanwhile, in iQOO's home country, China, the handset is slated to debut on November 7, the company posted on Sina Weibo, a Chinese microblogging platform. A global launch, including in India, is expected in the following weeks.

Specifications

Not much is known on this front, except that the device will have Snapdragon 8 gen 3 chipset as processor, as revealed by Maurya. Upon launch in India, iQOO 12 will be the first smartphone in the country to feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, the company said.

As per the leaks, however, the smartphone could have the following specifications:

Screen: AMOLED display with 2K resolution and a refresh rate of 144 Hz.

Battery: A 5000 mah unit with support for 200 W fast charging.

Security: An ultrasonic in-display fingerprint scanner, which will let people unlock the handset even with wet or moist fingers.

Camera: A triple rear system (a 50 MP OmniVision image sensor, a 50 MP wide-angle-lens with the ISOCELL JN1 sensor, and a 64 MP sensor with 3X optical zoom).
