Amid Covid vaccine shortage, Jaishankar to visit U.S: What’s on the agenda

  • Minister of External Affairs S Jaishankar is set to head to the U.S. for a 4-day visit from May 24-28. He will meet UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres in New York and hold a bilateral meeting with US Secretary of State Antony Blinken in Washington to discuss vaccine production and resilient supply chains. Vaccine procurement and possible tie-up with developers are likely to be on the top of the minister’s agenda. He will also meet cabinet members and senior officials of the Biden administration dealing with bilateral relations and have two interactions with business forums on economic and Covid-related cooperation between India and the US, the ministry said in a brief statement.
