Prime Minister Narendra Modi will declare open the Integrated Check Post at the passenger terminal building at Gurdaspur. Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan will also inaugurate the corridor on the end of the route in Pakistan. Several other events are being held in Kartarpur to mark Guru Nanak Dev’s birth anniversary.

In a letter to External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, Sidhu said that he had been invited by the Pakistan government for opening ceremony of Kartarpur Sahib corridor on November 9.

On October 10, Pakistan foreign office spokesman Mohammad Faisal created confusion over the inauguration date by stating that “no date has been fixed so far” while a Pakistani senior official heading the corridor project had announced that Pakistan will allow Indian Sikh pilgrims to visit the holy Kartarpur Sahib from November 9.
