Kolkata to enforce ‘no helmet, no fuel’ rule from December 8

Nearly half of over 1.8 million vehicles registered in Kolkata in 2019 were two-wheelers. The number of two-wheelers went up from around 83,00,00 to around 93,00,00 between 2017 and 2019.

Govt to bring helmets under mandatory BIS regime

Once the process is completed only BIS-certified helmets for two-wheeler riders would be manufactured and sold in India.

Policeman slams bike keys into 20-year-old’s forehead for speeding

Following the incident, a large number of angry locals clashed with police only to be dispersed with mild lathicharge. Three policeman, including a sub-inspector, were suspended by the district police administration.

Peshawar authorities apologise after Sikh motorcyclist issued challan for not wearing helmet

Traffic police authorities in Peshawar city of Pakistan apologised to the Sikh community after a Sikh motorcyclist was issued a challan for not wearing a helmet. A traffic warden had on Tuesday issued the challan to the Sikh youth riding the motorcycle for non-use of the helmet.
