Delhi: Kasturba hospital docs to go on ‘pen-down strike’ over salary delays

A strike notice issued by the RDA on Monday stated that doctors will undertake the “pen-down” strike between 9am and 12 noon from Tuesday.
The strike notice has also demanded a hike in the dearness allowance that was scheduled to be implemented since July 2021. (ANI File)

Kasturba Hospital docs call off stir after meeting mayor

However, permanent doctors of north corporation hospitals and other peripheral centres said they will go on an indefinite strike from March 22 if their salaries, pending for the past four months, are not paid by Sunday.

Nursing staff of Valmiki hospital join ongoing stir over unpaid salaries

The contractual nursing staff at Kasturba Hospital and Hindu Rao Hospital Tuesday announced that they, too, will join strike from November 5 (Thursday) if their demand for the immediate release of pending salaries is not met.
The regular nursing staff of Kasturba hospital, Hindu Rao hospital, Girdharilal Maternity hospital, Rajan Babu TB hospital are already on an indefinite strike since Monday. All these hospitals are under the North DMC.(File photo for representation purpose)

700 nursing, paramedic staff of North Delhi Municipal Corporation threaten strike from Monday

Doctors of hospitals under north corporation had launched a similar strike on October 5 to demand clearing of their outstanding salary dues. The strike finally was called off on October 28 after the north corporation cleared the salary of doctors till September 2020 on October 28.

Number of Covid +ve healthcare workers in north Delhi hospitals doubles to 13

The fresh cases included three women doctors from the gynaecology department of Kasturba Hospital. A 25-year-old postgraduate student of the department of the hospital had tested positive for the virus last Wednesday.

Another nurse tests Covid positive at Hindu Rao Hospital

In Thursday’s case, the nurse was tested as part of a group of 76 healthcare workers — including doctors and ward staff — who had come in close contact with another nurse who tested Covid positive last Saturday. The 980-bedded super specialty hospital had to be closed for a day after this.

Patparganj hospital closed for 3 days after TB specialist doctor tests positive

The doctor was a Tuberculosis specialist and is said to have attended to dozens of patients in the last two weeks. He is now admitted to the Rajiv Gandhi Super Specialty Hospital in Tahirpur.
