LIC shares hit record low of 782.45, market cap slips below 5 lakh crore

LIC share is trading in the red for the fifth straight session. The recent slump has dragged Life Insurance Corporation of India's market capitalisation below 5 lakh crore for the first time.

LIC reports lower profit in Q4; declares 1.50 per share dividend

India's biggest insurer and largest domestic financial investor also announced a dividend of 1.50 rupees per share with a face value of 10 rupees each, it said in a regulatory filing on Monday.

  • Having missed out on last year's IPO frenzy, shares in India's biggest insurer opened at 872 rupees apiece, compared to their issue price of 949 rupees. They touched a session high of 918.95 rupees.
