41 polluting industries in Delhi’s Mayapuri get closure notice

The closure notices were sent on Wednesday with a 24-hour deadline. However, the traders moved the Delhi High Court on Thursday against the DPCC’s order. The court is likely to hear the matter on Friday.

2 dead, one hurt as speeding truck rams two cars near AIIMS

A police officer said the impact of the collision was such that the bonnet of the car, in which property dealer Dilip Dutta, his 48-year-old driver Ravi Kumar, and wife Seema Dutta, 47, were travelling in was severely mangled. The driver of the truck, bearing a Rajasthan registration number, fled the spot.

765 Mayapuri industrial units fined Rs 1 lakh each for causing pollution

The committee has also levied an environmental compensation fine of 5,00,000 each on the SDMC, the public works department (PWD) and the district-level monitoring committee after a news report highlighting dumping of biomedical waste in Barapullah drain was published, it said in the statement.
