9 states told to boost Covid testing, vaccination

“Cannot help but re-emphasise the need for ramping up testing in the states and UTs. Those states/UTs that are showing a lower share of RT-PCR are requested to ramp up tests,” Union health minister Mansukh Mandaviya said.

Centre pulls up states/UTs on drop in Covid testing, cites positivity trend

In a letter, additional secretary in the ministry Arti Ahuja said this was required keeping in view the trend of case positivity in specific geographies within the states and UTs.

‘Ill informed & incorrect’: Centre on vaccine shortage in Maharashtra

The Union health ministry said that Maharashtra had 2.4 million doses of Covaxin and 12.4 million doses of the Covishield vaccine remaining unutilised with it, which would last for 10 days and 30 days respectively.

‘Misleading’: Centre on media reports about missed Covid-19 vaccination target

According to the data furnished by the ministry, 90% of the eligible population has been administered the first dose of the vaccine and the coverage is at 65% for the second dose.
