At the 54th Rencontres d’Arles photography festival, India sparkles

From, ‘Inheritance, Home series, Kolkata, 2021.’ Returning to live with her parents during the Covid-19 pandemic, artist Riti Sengupta found herself confronted with the weight of patriarchy hanging over the family home. Her series is an intergenerational dialogue between mother and daughter through collaborative performances.
