Officials on Friday said heavy rains and floods have taken at least 47 lives in Maharashtra’s Pune, Aurangabad and Konkan divisions while crops on lakhs of hectares were damaged extensively.
Issuing an orange alert, the Met department has predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated places in coastal areas in the state on Tuesday and Wednesday.(PTI)

The city recorded 331.08 mm rainfall, followed by 101.9 mm in the eastern suburbs and 76.03 mm in the western suburbs. Mumbai also saw strong winds at a speed of 106 km per hour while in other districts it was 70 to 80 kmph of nearly cyclonic intensity.
According to BMC’s update till 8 am, areas like BPT Colony at Wadala, Nair Hospital in central Mumbai, Maharshi Karve Road and Sakkar Panchayat area in south Mumbai were still water-logged.(AFP)

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted moderate to heavy rainfall in the city and suburbs and intense showers in some parts of the Mumbai Metropolitan Region in next 24 hours.
Places in Nanded, Hingoli, Parbhani, Jalna, Sangli and Aurangabad are also likely to receive light to moderate rain till Wednesday, the IMD said in its forecast on Saturday.(HT Photo)
