The civic body claimed to have filled more than 2,911 potholes since the start of Ganeshotsav while the work of filling remaining potholes is underway.

On Wednesday morning, a truck rammed into one of the pillars of Reay Road bridge, following which the BMC shut the bridge near Sewri.

The damage to the Jaipur-to-Delhi side of the carriageway of the flyover occurred on May 8 this year after chunks of concrete fell from the flyover leading to a hole on the surface of the road.

Key areas, which have a high traffic volume and footfall, such as the Mall Mile, Iffco Chowk, Golf Course Road, Udyog Vihar, Palam Vihar, Daulatabad flyover, Sheetla Mata Road, Sikanderpur, and certain sections of the Golf Course Extension Road (GCER) were heavily waterlogged.

As per fire department officials, a truck carrying daily essential items caught fire on top of an overhead flyover on the carriageway from Manesar to New Delhi.

A 36-year-old motorcyclist from Jharsa was killed after his motorcycle was allegedly hit by a truck on a single lane road near Jamalpur Chowk in Bilaspur on Thursday afternoon. Police said the victim was on his way from his house in Prem Puri, Jharsa, to Pataudi to meet a relative near a shrine.
