According to the police, after the trio realised that the woman was dead, Akbar – the father-in-law of the victim, Ayesha Sayyed, 31 – consumed poison to prove that the murder was in self-defence. He claimed that Ayesha fed him the poison. Currently, Akbar is in the hospital and will be arrested soon after he is discharged.

“The three then lynched Ayesha banging her head on the wall repeatedly,” said Bhalerao. “When the police reached the spot, they found Ayesha lying on the floor and Akbar gasping for breath. We rushed Akbar to the Oscar Hospital, Kandivali, where he was admitted for consuming rat poison.” (HT PHOTO)
