Actor Shashank Vyas’ (left), best known for playing Jagya, in a popular serial set in Rajasthan, is taking a break from the show.

The 28-year-old, who currently plays the father of teenager children in the show, wants to experiment with different genres now, and doesn’t want to be typecast.

“I don’t want to play an on screen father for a while, and would want to play characters my age. I wanted to experiment and I have experimented with this role. So now, I will try to focus more on roles in which I know I will be comfortable,” says Shashank.

And clearly, playing his own age is a priority for him now. “I am not that kind of actor who can play a 60-year-old man at 28 years of age. I feel that so early on in my career, I should try other roles,” he adds.

Asked what kind of role he is looking for, he says, “After doing this show, I have to be a little choosy about roles that I pick. I cannot pick random work, and have to find something that I can relate to, something that feels real.”
