Kishwer Merchant slams Anusha Dandekar for mocking her friend in Instagram video

In a video they posted on Instagram, VJ Anusha Dandekar and VJ Gaelyn Mendonca made fun of Kishwer’s friend, drawing her ire.

Actor Kishwer Merchant has lashed out at VJ Anusha Dandekar and VJ Gaelyn Mendonca for mocking her friend in an Instagram video. It all stared on Tuesday when Kishwer posted a story on Instagram, in which she is seen strolling with her friends, actors Gurneet Chadha and Rahul Sharma, and Rahul says, “I love Pancakes”. Soon after, Anusha and Gaelyn made a video, imitating the friend’s accent, and posted it on Instagram. Kishwar was predictably upset and made her displeasure clear in a post on the photo sharing application.

Kishwer wrote that not everyone comes from the same background as Anusha . She also wrote that it’s sad that a 35-year-old doesn’t know how to behave and asked them to grow up.

Supporting his wife, actor Suyyash Rai also took to Instagram to talk about how actors should be more responsible about what they post online. He also added that Kishwer’s friend had a Punjabi accent, just like Anusha’s boyfriend, actor Karan Kundra.

Dandekar, taking note of the escalating tension, clarified her stance through a comment: “Relax, we weren’t making fun of anyone, we wouldn’t do that...The video made us laugh...Wasn’t meant to offend anyone. In another, she wrote: And we are both Indians! So please it was never about the accent, the video was funny, that’s it! @kishwersmerchantt.”
