‘Ayodhya now, Kashi & Mathura next?’ Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath makes big remark | HTLS 2025

HTLS 2025: Speaking on the construction of Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath stated that the state government will now work towards establishing temples in Kashi and Mathura as well. When asked about the plans for Kashi and Mathura temples amid the ongoing disputes, UP CM responded “sabhi jagah pohochenge, aur pohoch chuke hain” ( We will go everywhere, and have already reached). In Mathura, the dispute is regarding Shahi Idgah Mosque, which is located next to the Krishna Janmabhoomi temple. The dispute is based on the claim by Hindu petitioners that the mosque was built after the 17th-century demolition of a temple on the birthplace of Lord Krishna by the Mughal emperor Aurangzeb. Meanwhile in Kashi (Varanasi), the Gyanvapi Mosque is under scanner for allegedly being built after the destruction of the Kashi Vishwanath temple. The dispute escalated into a court matter, which resulted in surveys by the Archaeological Survey of India, which indicated the presence of a pre-existing Hindu temple on site.
