Rishad Premji succeeds father Azim Premji as Wipro chairman

A day after Azim Premji retired as Wipro chairman, his son Rishad Premji succeeded him as the chairman. Rishad, was announced as the Executive Chairman effective July 31. An MBA from Harvard Business School, Rishad was inducted into Wipro's board of directors on May 2015. Wipro also announced that CEO Abidali Z Neemuchwala will be the company's Managing Director. Azim Premji still remains the non-executive chairman of Wipro. Azim Premji will focus on philanthropic activities post retirement.
