Congress leader Shashi Tharoor visited various protests against the Citizenship (Amendment) Act, 2019, in New Delhi. He first encouraged protestors outside the Jamia Millia Islamia university. Later in the day, he visited Shaheen Bagh, where the protest is being led by women. While addressing them, Tharoor called the protestors Delhi's pride and the nation's soul. He called the CAA discriminatory and against the ideals of India's freedom struggle. He also said that when combined with a nationwide NRC, it would cause hardships to the Muslim community.
